This past year has been an exciting one for me. I've been on several field trips and collection sites across Arizona, Nevada, Oregon and California and found some really nice material that I am sure you will be interested in.
As for me, my name is Johanna and like a lot of rock hounds, I was exposed to rock-hounding by my maternal grandparents. They spent every vacation rock-hounding in some remote areas. They always came back with pictures and more pictures of themselves out in the field.
I can remember the day that I was hooked just like it was yesterday, when my grandmother showed me a blue cabochon that she had just completed. She had crafted it from one of the treasures they had collected on the previous years trip. She also crafted a beautiful silver setting for the stone. I still have my grandparent's original rock saw, tumblers and lapidary equipment.
'On The Stones' is new to the internet and yes, it will take us a little bit of time to get this site up and running and populated with a good selection of treasures.
